Well we are going to try the blog one more time. I have yet to be successful at this. It is mostly because I am a private person and do not feel the need to bog everyone else life down with my stuff. I keep my own diary of the events in my life to help me keep them straight but I do not feel that everyone should have access to this information. The other issue I have with blogging is that I do not feel like I am an expert and do not feel comfortable putting my thoughts and feelings out for others to comment on. I feel I am a good teacher but do not feel it is necessary to post every idea I have out there.
This is my rant for the day. Which is exactly what I think blogs can becoming a place to vent.
Now saying all of that I do enjoy following hang gliding blogs when my brother-in-law is out of the country flying or when my husband is in another state competing in a Space Elevator competition. But I only want to tune in when I want and not a constant feed all the time.

A blog can be about anything at all. You should choose a blog topic that interests you. Have you no interests?
ReplyDeleteYou could simply post links to articles that interest you. Or post photos of something you are interested in. Or even just copy & paste in a joke for the the week.
Most popular blogs are not personal. So no need to feel you need to share personal information.
Cindy,
ReplyDeleteYou are not only. I am also a private person. I am actually having a hard time dealing with a twitter account, bloggging, and having a social networking site, because I have never had one before. I am just not a person who wants to be "out there" for everyone to see.
Since Web 2.0 is the "Read / Write", it may be understandably challenging to post to the various class activities. I think as you get used to it, it will become easier.
ReplyDeleteRemember -- just posting a link to something you find interesting / amusing / whatever -- is enough! 1 sentence of why you are posting the link and the link is all it takes. & you will be DONE - w/o sharing anything personal or typing much at all.
Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI would be interested in hearing more about your husband's competition. Keep us posted on how he is doing!
I understand how you feel about being a private person. I do not like to share a lot because I'm afraid of what people might think, or that I might be incorrect or be doing something wrong. I've learned that the blogs can be very helpful though. I am 23 weeks pregnant and I found a blogging site that shares with me the experiences of other pregnant women, which has been very helpful. I figure that we do not have to be perfect with our blogs; we just need to give our insight on certain things. We could be a great source for other people.
